Humacyte is a development-stage company focused on the creation and commercialization of engineered human products for several applications. Since its incorporation in late 2004, Humacyte has attained proof of concept in several different large animal models and is preparing for pivotal studies. To date, Humacyte has made considerable progress in the development of its human-based matrix products. The matrices have been developed and characterized relative to tissue composition, mechanical strength, immunogenicity, integration with native tissue and maintenance of tissue properties over an extended storage time. Product prototypes have been developed for various vascular, injectable and sheet applications. Proof of concept has been obtained with pre-clinical studies conducted up to periods of six and twelve months.
